EMS RESPONDER

No need to be a firefighter to be a first responder. Emergency medical responses are a large part of what we do and we are actively looking for individuals who have an interest in responding to medical calls. We have resources to help train you to different levels (Emergency Medical Responder EMR, Emergency Medical Technicians EMT, Paramedic) and financial assistance may be available.

What does an EMS responder do?
As an EMS responder, you would respond to medical calls, assist those in need, and maintain medical gear and supplies. You would be trained in first aid, CPR with usage of a defibrillator, medical and trauma care, vehicle and machinery extrication, and much more. You would work closely with paramedics in the area and would receive feedback, policy updates, and cade reviews from the Medical Director. If you are interested in more information or would like to attend a Monday night drill, contact the fire station at (503)394-3000.
